Instructions

To Fill: The arrow on the knob indicates the position of the teeth on the metal rod. Turn knob so the teeth on the metal rod are facing away from the handle (Arrows should not be aligned). Pull rod up all the way. Unscrew ring at end of press. Form cookie dough into a log and insert in barrel. Select cookie disc and position disc in ring so that it fits securely in the base. Screw ring onto cookie press. Gently press knob down to remove air from barrel. Turn knob so teeth on the metal rod face towards the handle to begin pressing out cookies. Arrows on knob and handle should be aligned.

To Form Cookies: Hold press upright with the ring resting firmly against a cooled ungreased cookie sheet. Squeeze the trigger to form a cookie. One click is one cookie! Repeat for remainder of dough in press; bake cookies. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool sheet completely. Refill barrel and repeat for remaining cookie dough. To change cookie designs, change discs.

For Best Results: Use aluminum cookie sheet and Wilton Spritz Cookie recipe. Cookie dough must stick to baking surface to form cookies. Do not use with parchment paper or non-stick pans. Not recommended for use with refrigerated dough.

Use & Care

Before first and after each use, hand wash press in warm, soapy water. Dry thoroughly. Barrel and discs are dishwasher safe.

Preferred Press Cookie Press is rated 1.6 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy I bought the holiday disks because I thought they would work with my tried and true cookie press (it's an old one). The disks didn't fit so I bought the Wilton Preferred Press. Tried making Spritz cookies with it today. Big disappointment! The "one click" cookie is nonsense. It took at least two clicks and then I ended up with distorted shapes. With my old cookie press I can fill a cookie sheet in seconds. This one is a waste of time and money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage! Don't waste your money! This thing is a piece of you know what! It broke within 10 minutes of using it. Cheaply made and useless. GARBAGE!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I've only had this one for 3 years. Last year a couple of the plastic discs broke. A neighbor made a metal one and it worked good. But the press kept getting harder and harder. I used the exact recipe for cookies included in the package. This year I was even more careful and was nursing it through even tho' I could only fill it half way because it kept getting harder to press and kept making clicking sounds but wouldn't compress. Finally, after only 3 batches of cookies made this year, the entire plunger broke into pieces. Doesn't anyone make a good cookie press anymore. I had my mom's all metal one form the 1950's and kept it for years and years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Handle locks The item I received did not work. The handle kept locking and did not advance to the next cookies.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your time. I bought this product on Saturday, looking forward to making multiple batches of quick press out cookies on Sunday, what a nightmare. It took me 8 hours to press out 100 little cookies. Ridiculous! It seems it 'may' only work with the 3 recipes they provide, but if you try to use another 'cookie press' recipe it will not release the cookies. I had to scrape them off with a small spatula. This happened with two different cookie press approved recipes I used (a shortbread and a spritz). It's horrible that you are confined to ONLY using their recipe. I didn't try their recipe as I was so frustrated after my 8 wasted hours that I just surrendered. A cookie press should work with all cookie press recipes. I even tried small tips like chilling my Wilton pans before pressing. It's back in the box and going back to the store. I am surprised and shocked since Wilton is my first 'go to' when it comes to baking items. VERY disappointed Wilton.
