Wilton is now offering both individual and group classes live online!
In each live session, one of our certified instructors will guide you step by step through a technique, correcting and coaching along the way as you use your own supplies to practice the technique. Students must provide their own supplies.
You will be making stunning cakes in no time once you learn simple decorating techniques like dots, stars, leaves and rosettes. Your instructor will show you the basics of working with bags and tips, talk about icing consistency, and teach you how to put these basic techniques together.
Your cakes and cupcakes will bloom with beauty when you learn how to make the Wilton Rose out of buttercream icing. Our instructor will teach you how to use a bag and tip and each step to creating a beautiful rose.
Stars and rosettes in bright and vibrant colors can be used to add a striking border or floral accent to a dessert or even cover an entire cake. Learn how to use a bag and tip, along with two simple piping techniques using a variety of star tips to create a beautiful stars and rosettes cake.
Invite these creatures for Halloween. This is a great class for parents and kids to do together, or for anyone who wants to have fun with cupcakes. You will learn how to do a cupcake swirl using two different tips, draw lines with a flat tip, and add fun accents like eyeballs and “blood”.
Learn how to transform a cookie from a basic shape into a colorful, edible work of art. Your instructor will show you how to achieve the proper icing consistency needed to ice cookies smooth with the flow-in method and teach you how to create trendy designs using the dragging technique.
These whimsical cookies will brighten up any get together this autumn. You will learn to combine outlining, pull-out dots and fill in techniques together to create a scarecrow, a crow, and a pumpkin cookie.
Cake painting is one of the most popular and easy-to-do cake decorating trends! Our instructor will teach you how to use a spatula like a paint brush, and icing to paint designs and flowers on your cake canvas and treats. No piping bags or tips are required.
Do you find it challenging to get a smooth finish on your iced cakes? Let our instructor show you how to achieve smooth coverage on your cakes. You will learn to add a crumb coat and two methods to put icing on the cake. Then we’ll show you the tips to getting that smooth finish.
Show off your beautiful piped buttercream blossoms on cakes, cupcakes or any small treat at your next party! Our instructor will teach you about icing consistency, how to use a bag and tip, and each step to creating a sunflower, mum, aster, carnation, and poppy.
Learn how to add an extra dimension of design to your cakes using fondant. Our instructor will teach you the basics of working with fondant so you can tint and shape it to create colorful cut-out tiles, blossom flowers, and the timeless ribbon rose.
Customize your colors and decorations to create a fault line cake for any occasion once you learn the basics. Your instructor will take you through the steps for creating a fault line cake, then talk through ways to enhance your design with cake paint or sprinkles.
Q: How does a virtual class work?
A: Wilton Virtual Classes will be conducted using MindBody Livestream, a video teaching platform. Instructions for using the platform will be sent to you in advance of your session.
Q: Who will be teaching these classes?
A: Your live online classes will be taught by Wilton trained instructors. These instructors have extensive teaching and cake decorating experience.
Q: Will I need any supplies for my class?
A: Yes – a basic supply list can be found with the class description above. This is a hands-on class where you will receive coaching and feedback from the instructor in real time as you decorate together. Supplies can be purchased online at https://www.wilton.com/virtual-class-supplies/, on Amazon or at your local Walmart or JoAnn store.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Tuition for classes is based on the length of the class and whether it is a one on one or group class. See above. Cost of supplies will vary by class.
Q: Do I need to get others to join me for a group class?
A: You can, but it isn’t necessary. There will be four spots available for the class. You can invite others to sign up for the same class or make new friends with others who sign up.
Q: How long is each class?
A: Classes vary in length depending on the class. We offer 30-minute, 60-minute, and 90-minute classes. Due to scheduling limits for instructors, all classes will have a hard stop at their designated time.
Q: Are these classes available in Spanish or other languages besides English?
A: At this time, Wilton Live Online classes are limited to English only.
Q: What will I learn?
A: The 30-minute class topics currently available are: Buttercream Basics, Learn the Wilton Rose, Stars & Rosettes Cake, and Halloween Cupcakes. The 60-minute topics available are: Ice a Cake, Buttercream Painting, Easy Cookie Decorating, and Scarecrow Cookies. Our 90-minute classes include: Fondant Flair Cakes, Fault Line Cake, and Fall Flowers.
Q: How far in advance do I need to sign up for a class?
A: You will need to sign up at least 72 hours or 3 days in advance. Any class that does not meet the minimum enrollment at least 72 hours in advance of the start time will be canceled.
Q: Is there a waitlist if the class I want is full?
A: Yes. If the class you want is full, contact firstname.lastname@example.org. You will be notified if there is a cancellation and your name is next on the list.
Q: What if I need to learn something different than what the classes offer?
A: At this time, Wilton live online classes are limited to the listed techniques. If there is a technique you’d like us to include in future offerings, please email your suggestion to email@example.com. Be sure to check our YouTube channel for instructional videos on the topic of your choice.
Q: What if I need more help than the class provides?
A: As your instructor guides you through your class, she will provide tips and suggestions to help you continue practicing on your own. In addition, you will receive a follow up email after your session that includes a list of resources to further assist you.
Q: I’m not available during the listed days and times, can I still request a class?
A: Not at this time. But please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know what times and days you would like to see classes scheduled. Your feedback will help us in scheduling future classes.
Q: Can I get a refund if I have to cancel a class?
A: A refund will be given if you cancel at least 1 full business day in advance.
Q: Can I sign up for more than one class?
A: Yes, you can sign up for as many classes as you would like.
