

Soft & Chewy Sugar Cookie Bars

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup Candy Melts Candy (any color or a combination of colors)

- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray 13 in. x 9 in. pan with vegetable pan spray.
- In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla.
- Add flour mixture and mix until just combined.
- Stir in 1/2 cup chopped Candy Melts and sprinkles, as desired.
- Press mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle remaining candy and sprinkles over top.
- Bake for 28-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean. Remove to the cooling rack and cool completely.

- Customize colors: Customize your sugar cookie recipe with your favorite Candy Melts candy color combinations. We used white, red, orange and pink candy wafers!
- Frosting recipe: Try our easy vanilla buttercream recipe. Just spread the buttercream frosting on completely cooled bars before topping with the remaining candy and sprinkles for an extra special treat.
