Copper is one of those metallics that easily dresses up or down. On cupcakes, the look is stylish and on trend. A combination of bronze and orchid pink Pearl Dust Edible Accents, with added Orange Color Dust Edible Accents creates a copper with just the right amount of shimmer and highlights.
Make copper roses and sugar. Combine bronze and orchid pink Pearl Dust and orange Color Dust.Mix a portion of the combined dusts with equal amount of lemon extract. Brush onto white royal icing roses; set aside to dry. Dampen gold sugar with lemon extract; add copper dust and stir until sugar is covered. Set aside to dry.
Decorate cupcakes. Prepare a decorating bag with tip 1M and white icing. Spatula ice cupcakes with white icing; sprinkle with copper sugar. Pipe a small 1M rosette on cupcake; position copper rose.
NOTE: Cupcakes can also be decorated with just a rosette and copper rose, or only with icing and copper sugar.
