Give homemade mini brownies a little touch of purple with these Very Violet Mini Brownie Bites. A dollop of purple icing and a cute little fondant flower make these little brownie bites great for a birthday party, wedding shower or Mother’s Day celebration. One day in advance, make fondant flowers. Using fondant roller with pink guide rings, roll out fondant. Using blossom cutter, cut out 24 flowers.
Using shaping foam and ball tool, press in center of each flower. Let dry in cornstarch-dusted board 8 to 10 hours.
Decorate flowers. Using Lilac Purple Pearl Dust and decorating brush, dust flowers with powder. Set aside.
Bake brownies. Prepare brownie batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool.
Tint buttercream. Tint 2 cups icing medium purple and ½ cup icing dark purple using color combinations provided. Combine Burgundy and Violet icing colors to get dark purple color shown. Combine Violet and Rose icing colors to get medium purple color shown.
Decorate brownies. Prepare decorating bag with tip 1A and medium purple icing. Pipe large dot on each brownie. Position one flower on brownie.
Prepare second decorating bag with tip 6 and dark purple icing. Pipe small dot in center of each flower.
Add dimension to blossom cut-outs using a few simple steps to create beautiful, lifelike flowers. While this technique can be used for fondant alone, you will get a more noticeable cupped look by adding Gum-Tex to fondant before rolling out.
