Step 1

Make cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cake. Cake is two-layers, 4 in. high. Place cake on foil-wrapped cake circle .

Step 2

Decorate cake. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint light yellow; reserve a portion white. Use spatula and yellow icing to ice cake smooth.

Use spatula to mound white icing in center of cake top. Use tip 1M and white icing to pipe rosettes on top of cake.

Use cake marker to mark 3/4 in. divisions on side of cake. Use tip 3 and yellow icing to pipe curvy lines 3/4 in. apart on sides of cake.

Use tip 3 and yellow icing to pipe bead bottom border.
