In advance: Make cookies. Prepare and roll
out dough. Use teddy bear cutter to cut body; use knife to trim
off ears and arms. Use largest round Cut-Out to cut heads. Use
pattern to cut two easel backs per figure.
Bake and cool cookies.
Use royal icing to decorate heads and bodies
separately on waxed paper-covered boards.
Ice heads smooth in skin tone, then
decorate features as follows.
Attach one candy eyeball with
dots of icing. Pipe in tip 5 pants and shirt;
use spatula to pull out bottom for tattered
look. Pipe tip 12 pull-out arms. Pipe tip 3
pull-out fingers and ball smaller eye. Pipe
tip 2 dot toes and head wounds, pull-out
hair, dot pupil outline and pipe in mouth,
Attach heads; let dry. Attach
easel backs; let dry. Add piping gel tinted red
for blood and wounds in cut parchment bag.
