Bake and cool cross pan cake. Cake is one layer, 2 in. high. Position on prepared base board. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Use spatula to ice cake smooth. Reserve remaining icing.
Cut damask panels. Use cross panel cutting and positioning template to cut panels from damask Sugar Sheets! edible decorating paper. Each panel, marked A through K, should be cut and immediately positioned on the cake in alphabetical order. Use rotary cutter to cut pieces and piping gel to attach to cake. Any uneven areas between panels will be filled in later with icing beads.
Paint colors. Squeeze blue, orange, red, yellow, green and pink Sparkle Gel into individual cavities of candy melting plate. Use one brush for each color to paint gels over panels in randomly shaped sections.
Pipe borders. Tint a portion of reserved icing black. Use tip 2 to pipe beads over all panel seams and for bead bottom border.
Make host. Use second largest (3 1/4 in.) cutter from 4-pc. circles nesting metal set to cut two circles from white Sugar Sheets! edible decorating paper. Use piping gel
to attach shiny sides together. Use black FoodWriter edible color marker to write monogram with last name inital in center.
DAY OF CELEBRATION
Position host. Use tip 2 white icing dots to attach to cake.
