Perfect for classic borders or cloudlike decorations, dots are a versatile technique that can be piped in a range of sizes. The dot technique can be used as a simple border for cakes and cookies, as well as for icing cupcakes or piping meringues.

Characters or designs are often outlined first, then piped in with stars or zigzags. Outlines can also be used for facial features.

You can't go wrong with any of these delicious coatings. Each will give cupcakes, mini cakes and other baked goods a beautiful finish — choose the look you want for your event.

Spot Your Eggs Mini Cakes is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a fun project to use the many techniques of cake embellishment. I enjoyed using the the jumbo confetti and nonpareils. I rated the difficulty level as "somewhat easy" since I do have a problem creating the smooth covering of the mini egg cake. Even with a wrinkled top, using the embellishments cover all the "oops"!
