Spinach and Sausage Lasagna Recipe

The traditional lasagna recipe gets a fresh, new update. With layers of noodles, sausage, tomatoes, spinach, ricotta and mozzarella, this is your go-to dish for chilly nights when comfort food is what you crave.

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare 13 in. x 9 in. pan with vegetable pan spray.

Step 2

Prepare lasagna noodles according to package directions.

Step 3

In large skillet, cook Italian sausage over medium-high heat until brown and crumbly. Stir in tomato sauce.

Step 4

Thaw spinach in microwave according to package directions and use a clean dishtowel to squeeze all moisture from spinach.

Step 5

In medium bowl, combine ricotta, spinach, Parmesan cheese, eggs, salt and pepper.

Step 6

To assemble lasagna, spread ½ cup of meat sauce over bottom of prepared dish; layer 5 strips lasagna noodles over sauce. Spread on 1 cup cheese mixture and 1 cup sauce. Repeat layering process two more times, ending with noodles. Top lasagna with remaining sauce; sprinkle with mozzarella. Cover with foil.

Step 7

Bake 30 minutes or until heated through. Remove foil and cook an additional 10 minutes. Let stand 10-15 minutes before cutting.

1 package whole milk ricotta cheese (15 oz.)

grated Parmesan cheese

3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


2 Eggs (lightly beaten)


1/2 teaspoon salt

black pepper

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

shredded mozzarella cheese

1 package shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz.)
