Your family can get started right away creating this snowdrift inn. The kit is pre-baked and pre-assembled and ready for creative hands to get carried away with the decorating. All candy and icing included.
Divide prepared decorating icing in half, use half for decorating house, the other half for adding "snow" around house (keep remaining half covered with a damp cloth).
Create windows and door with outlines. Attach mini fruit-flavored candies to doorframe and tops and bottoms of windows. Cut fruit jelly rounds in half and attach to window sides; decorate icicles on windowsills. Add fruit jelly round for window on door; cut mini jelly for doorknob; attach both with icing.
Roll 2 mini green jellies together on granulated sugar; cut into wreath shape and attach to house with icing. Roll out 1/2 of a red fruit jelly round and cut into bow shape; attach to wreath with icing.
Using spatula, ice roof fluffy. Position mini fruit-flavored candies and mini jellies cut in half on roof. Stand fruit jelly rounds on roof peak. Decorate icicles on eaves and attach mini jellies cut in half.
Using a spatula, ice snow on base fluffy and sprinkle with shredded coconut. Position mini fruit flavored candies around house and along walkway.

I purchased one of the kits at a craft store and found that the icing mix was easy to prepare and actually held the gingerbread together well.

This has been a holiday tradition in my family for years and years. It wouldn't be Christmas without our candy decorated houses. Even though my kids are all young adults they love to come back and decorate a house. We have made little villages and added trees and ice rinks and sleds. What great memories and hopefully we will continue to make more as the years go on...
