*Combine Brown with Red-red for brown shown. Combine Lemon Yellow with Golden Yellow for yellow shown. For candy, combine purple and pink candy colors for purple shown, combine green and yellow candy colors for green shown.
**Brand confectionery coating.
In advance: Tint portions of melted candy orange, yellow, black rose, green and violet using candy colors. On waxed paper, using melted yellow candy in cut parchment bag, pipe pigtail shapes. Refrigerate until firm. Cut lollipop sticks to 3 in. attach stick to back of pigtail shapes with melted candy.
Mold sunglasses using painting method. Use decorator brush to paint mold with melted Candy Melts®. Refrigerate a few seconds until coating hardens, then fill mold to top with melted candy. Fill in one section of the mold at a time and let harden before adding more colors.
Bake cupcakes in Assorted Pastel Standard Baking Cups and cool completely on Cooling Grid.
Prepare Buttercream Icing recipe. Tint remaining icing with small amounts of Copper, Brown and Yellow Icing Colors. Ice cupcakes smooth with copper using Spatula.
For girl cupcakes, insert pigtails in sides. With yellow buttercream icing in Disposable Decorating Bag fitted with Star Decorating Tip 16, pipe girl´s hair and overpipe pigtails with strings. With copper (skin tone) icing in Disposable Decorating Bag fitted with Round Decorating Tip 5, pipe dot nose. With black buttercream icing in Disposable Decorating Bag fitted with Round Decorating Tip 3, pipe string smile.
For boy cupcakes, with brown buttercream icing in Disposable Decorating Bag fitted with Star Decorating Tip 16, pipe pull-out hair. Attach sunglasses with icing. With copper (skin tone) icing in Disposable Decorating Bag fitted with Round Decorating Tip 5, pipe dot nose. With black buttercream icing in Disposable Decorating Bag fitted with Round Decorating Tip 3, pipe string smile.
For a fun and personal touch, why not decorator each cupcake to resemble each party guest?
Adding color details to candies makes them more realistic and much more fun! For large areas of color, it's best to paint the melted candy right in the mold before the whole candy is molded using a decorator brush. Or, for very small details like vines, mouths and messages, melted candy should be piped onto molded candies using a parchment bag with a small hole cut in the tip.

I made them for a beach themed party my little brother was throwing. They were so easy, and so much fun!
The star tip is great for making spiked modern hair for the little boy. I can't wait to bring these to a summer picnic!
