Root Beer Football Jelly Shots

It's a win-win for football fans with these fun and easy root beer flavored jelly shots. Make one batch with alcoholic root beer and one with a non-alcoholic version so that kids can join in. Use decorating tip 5 and white icing to pipe the laces to keep them looking official. Perfect for passing, be sure to bring them along for tailgating and friend's football parties to score big on game day! Great for fantasy football league get-togethers, too.

Ingredients

3 bottles (12 ounces each) alcoholic or non-alcoholic root beer
4 envelopes (.25 ounces each) unflavored gelatin
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup frozen whipped topping

- Prepare 13 in. x 9 in. pan with vegetable pan spray.
- In medium bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup root beer, gelatin, and salt.
- In small saucepan, combine remaining root beer and sugar. Heat until steaming (do not boil) over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until sugar dissolves. Gradually add hot root beer mixture to gelatin mixture, stirring until gelatin melts and mixture is smooth. Gently stir down foam, and skim any excess foam from mixture. Pour into prepared pan and refrigerate 2 hours or until firm.
- Cut jelly shots into 64 rectangles and remove to serving tray. Using a tip 5, pipe whipped topping football laces onto each shot and serve.
