Create a cake that’s ready for the runway with this Lavender Dreams Doll Cake. Bake cake. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cake in prepared princess pans.
Stack cakes, insert the doll, and trim as needed so the top of the cake comes to the doll's hip. Remove the doll and lightly ice the cake between layers.
Tint icing. Tint ½ cup of the 4 lb. icing gold using color combination provided. Combine Golden Yellow and Brown icing colors to get gold color shown. Set aside.
In medium bowl, combine the two icings, 2 cups of the stiff icing combined with 3 cups of the 4 lb. icing for a total of 5 cups of icing. Tint the icing lavender by combining Violet and Rose icing colors to get lavender color shown.
Crumb coat cake using lavender icing. Reserve remaining icing for later step.
Decorate doll. Wrap plastic wrap around legs and upper hips of doll. Using spatula, ice top bodice of doll with gold icing. Cover icing with gold pearlized sugars. Set aside.
Decorate cake. Prepare decorating bag with tip 2D and lavender icing. Starting at bottom, pipe rosettes around cake. Continue, making rosettes smaller towards last 3 to 4 rows (to make smaller, decrease pressure).
Insert doll into center of cake. Pipe rosettes around doll waist to cover any space.
