Step 1

In advance: Prepare cookie dough and roll out. Cut hat, horn and gift using patterns; bake and cool. Ice cookies smooth. Pipe tip 6 stripes on horn and gift. Using pattern, cut message burst from cardstock; print message with marker. Bake and cool cake.

Step 2

Ice sides and background areas smooth. Use tip 3 to outline dinosaur and features (front arm will be added later); pipe in eye, pupil, nostrils, mouth and teeth (smooth all with finger dipped in cornstarch). Cover dinosaur and spikes with tip 16 stars.

Step 3

Attach cookie sticks to the backs of hat and horn with melted candy; let set. Insert hat into cake; pipe tip 6 dots, pull-out fringe and pompom. Attach message burst to lollipop stick on back of horn with dots of melted candy; insert.

Step 4

Position gift cookie on cake, outline arm and pipe in claw with tip 3; fill in arm with tip 16 stars (overpipe for dimension). Use tip 3 to pipe in gift tag; print tip 1 message. Pipe tip 20 shell bottom border; attach confetti from Flowerful Medley assortment to cake sides with dots of icing.

Combine Lemon Yellow and Golden Yellow for yellow shown. Combine Violet and Rose for violet shown.
