Pumpkin Sandwich Cookies

Step 1
1 DAY IN ADVANCE
Make cookies. Prepare and roll out cookie dough following recipe directions. For each treat, use head cutter from pumpkin fun face cutter set to cut two cookies. On half of the cookies, use feature cutters from set to cut out eyes, nose and mouth. Bake and cool cookies.
Decorate cookies. Prepare Color Flow icing folowing recipe directions. Tint portions black, leaf green, Christmas red/red-red combination (for red), orange and royal blue. Thin all colors. Place cookies on cooling grid over parchment paper-covered cookie sheet. Cover solid cookies with black icing and face cookies with orange, green, red or blue icing. Use a toothpick to remove excess icing from feature areas on faces. Let set 24 hours.
Step 2
DAY OF CELEBRATION
Assemble cookies. Use dots of thinned icing to attach face cookies to solid cookies, placing faces slightly to the left to create a shadow effect. Let set 10 to 15 minutes.
