This Pink and Purple Rosette Cake is blooming with lovely buttercream rosettes. A simple and easy cake to make for a birthday party or bridal shower, this sheet cake recipe is easy enough for any level of decorator. Top your cake with some simple white Sugar Pearls for that perfect finishing touch!
Bake cake. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cake.
Tint icing. Using color combinations provided, tint 2 cups icing dark mauve, 2 cups icing dark coral, 1 cup icing medium mauve, 1 cup icing light mauve and 1 cup icing medium coral. Combine Rose and Sky Blue icing colors to get light, medium and dark mauve colors shown. Combine Orange and Pink icing colors to get medium and dark coral colors shown.
Prepare decorating bags with the following tips and icing colors:
Tip 1M – dark mauve icing
Tip 199 – medium mauve icing
Tip 2C – light mauve icing
Tip 1B – dark coral icing
Tip 1G – medium coral icing
Decorate cake. Starting with larger tips (1B, 1M and 1G), pipe random rosettes on top of cake.
Using medium tips (2C and 199), pipe rosettes to fill in any spaces.
