A beautiful addition to a baptism, christening or Easter celebration, this Pastel Cross Cake is an inspiring project for any level of decorator. Lines of bright violet, white and yellow icing form the top of this cake, then colorful pastel sprinkles add a little dash of fun! Bake cake. Prepare cake mix following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cake.
Ice cake. Using white icing pouch with star tip, pipe icing along sides and beveled area of cake. Smooth with spatula.
Decorate cake. Sprinkle sides of cake with pearlized jimmies, using spatula to help push sprinkles against icing, if necessary.
Prepare white, violet and yellow icing pouches with round tip. Starting at top center of cross with violet icing, pipe horizontal line across top of cross cake. Repeat with white and yellow icing pouches. Continue piping horizontal lines, alternating colors, until cross is complete.
