This simple and easy Whimsical Oblong Floral Cake is perfect for bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays and more. Simply ice your favorite vanilla cake recipe with white icing, then decorate the top of the cake with rosettes, stars, dots, shells, and leaves. You can customize your cake with a piped birthday message or top it with an assortment of candles. Baked in a lovely navy cake pan, this dessert can go from oven to table for entertaining made easy!

  1. Bake cake. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cake in oblong pan.
  2. Tint Icing. Combine Brown and Juniper Green icing colors to get olive brown color shown. Combine Cornflower Blue and Moss Green icing colors to get light blue color shown. Combine Delphinium Blue, Cornflower Blue and a touch of Black icing colors to get dark blue color shown.

    Tint ½ cup white icing each olive brown, light blue and dark blue using color combinations provided.

    Using Moss Green icing color, tint ½ cup white icing moss green.

    Reserve remaining icing white.

  3. Prepare Decorating Bags. Prepare decorating bags with tips and icing as follows:

    Tip 3 and olive brown icing

    Tip 18 and light blue icing

    Tip 32 and white icing

    Tip 104 and dark blue icing

    Tip 1M and white icing

    Tip 352 and moss green icing

  4. Decorate cake. Using 9 in. angled spatula and white icing, ice cake. Using prepared decorating bags, pipe rosettes, stars, leaves, dots, shells and floral sprigs around edges of cake.
