Work your magic at a Mardi Gras party when you serve up these mysterious and masterful filled cookie treats. Piping gel and colored sugars create the mask design on top of piñata treat cookies filled with a surprise!
Make cookies. You will need two cookies per treat. Prepare dough and roll out dough 3/16 in. thick. Cut using round Comfort-Grip.
Invert whoopie pie pan and spray with vegetable pan spray. Drape dough over every other pan cavity, pressing to smooth surface. Bake 10-14 minutes, or until firm and golden brown. Cool pan on cooling grid 10 minutes. Carefully loosen bottom edges of pan using spatula.
Fill cookies. Fill one cookie with candy necklace.
Make piñata treats. Prepare royal icing. Use tip 8 and icing to pipe a line around rim of candy-filled cookie; attach second cookie. Use tip 8 and white icing to pipe an additional line around edge.
Decorate mask. Use piping gel and a cut parchment bag to outline mask pattern one section at a time; transfer onto cookie.
Use piping gel and brush to brush the eye hole area of mask. Sprinkle with black sugar.
Use piping gel and brush to brush the yellow portion of mask. Sprinkle with yellow sugar.
Use piping gel and brush to brush green areas. Sprinkle with green sugar.
Use piping gel and brush to brush purple part of mask. Sprinkle with purple sugar.
Use piping gel and a cut parchment bag to pipe lines above mask. Sprinkle with purple and green sugar. Let dry until set.
