In advance: Make candy curls. Also: Make cookie hat. Prepare dough and roll out. Use pattern to cut out hat. Bake and cool. And: Cut a cake board 2 in. larger than Daisy Pan. Wrap with foil.
Bake and cool Daisy cake and Soccer Ball. Use Cake Leveler to trim bottom off Soccer Ball cake to make round face 2 1/2 in. deep. Stack cakes on prepared board. Ice smooth face and ear areas with yellow; ice remainder of cake orange. Use tip 12 to outline ears and build up nose (pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch). Using tip 5, outline and fill in nose section; pipe dot eyes and outline mouth. Position candy curls. Ice cookie hat smooth; position on cake. Use tip 4 to pipe age; add pull-out dot fringe on brim and tip.
*Combine Violet with Rose for violet shown. Combine Brown with Red-Red for brown shown.

I made this as a smash cake for my friend's son's first birthday. She decorated in the jungle theme. I really enjoyed making the mane of the lion. I think candy melts are so cool! You can do so much with them! I had a liitle trouble getting the eyes to look right but I finally got it!

I loved this cake, I made this for my nephew's first birthday safari and it was easy to make with the instructions given! The candy curls were even easy to make and curl! Love this cake will make again!!!

I just want to add that finally I found the perfect lion cake in the book 2010, it is similar but insted of candy curls you use icing. I reallly recomended!
