How to Pipe Icicles on a Gingerbread House
Icicles capture the magical moment of snow falling and gracefully trailing down a winter cottage. Add this magical look effect to roof edges, windowsills and trees.
Using a Tip 3 (or any small round tip), hold the bag with the tip pointing up towards the roof.
Squeeze, and let the icing build up and start to pull the tip down slowly. Decrease pressure as you reach the desired length of the icicle.
Stop squeezing and pull the tip away.
- Icicles are a variation of the pull-out dot technique.
- Add an extra-snowy look to some of your icicles by squeezing heavily and letting the icing build up before pulling the tip down.
- For a realistic look, pipe icicles in varying lengths and thickness. Use a variety of round tips to create thin and thick icicles.
