In advance: Make cookie head. Prepare
and roll out dough. Use pattern to cut out
head; with knife, cut 2 x 2 in. supports for
head. Bake and cool cookies.
Bake and cool cake. Level head area. On
cookie, use tip 3 to outline and fill in inner
ears; pat smooth. Pipe tip 12 dot eyes,
tip 3 dot nostrils, outline smile. Attach
supports to back of head with royal icing.
On cake, pipe tip 3 outline nails and tip 16
star spots. Cover remainder of cookie and
cake with tip 16 stars. Pipe tip 16 e-motion
tail. Position cookie on cake.
The star tip creates the most celebrated, easily accomplished decorations! The serrated edges of the star tip make ridges in the icing as you squeeze it out. Because fill in requires so much piping from the same bag, keep replenishing icing in bag.
