This "cupcake cake" is a fairly easy cake to make and is a great hit. It has been such a success for me that I have made at least 4 to date so far. Kids love the pirates and adults love the minimal mess of cupcakes. I have found that usuing chocolate icing for the boat is best for color purpose as well as flavor. I would recommend using regular cupcake papers to get the best shape for the boat and sail.
