A tasty savory scone is the perfect addition to any formal brunch. Packed with fresh dill, chives, white Cheddar cheese and lots of butter, these Herb and White Cheddar Scones compliment a sweet brunch perfectly. Serve with jam or softened butter for a tasty treat everyone is sure to love.
Heat oven to 425°F. Prepare cookie sheet with vegetable pan spray.
In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, dill, chives, salt and pepper; stir well. Add cheese; mix well.
Cut in butter with pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In small bowl, whisk together milk and egg. Add to dry ingredients all at once; stir until dry ingredients are moistened.
On well-floured surface, knead dough 5-10 times until it comes together. Pat dough into an 8 in. round (about 1 in. thick); cut into 8 wedges. Place on prepared pan.
Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove scones to cooling grid; cool slightly. Serve warm.
