This little snowflake cookie shines bright atop a base of holiday plaid. A fun flow-in cookie that is easy for decorators of all skill levels, this Green and Red Holiday Plaid Cookie features two delicious cookies in one. Bake a batch for a holiday party or present them in a seasonal treat bag and hand them out to neighbors and friends. Since these cookies are decorated using royal icing, they will need time to dry and set, so be sure to plan ahead if making these easy Christmas cookies for a party or event.
Prepare and roll out dough. For each treat, cut
one round using second largest cutter from
set and one snowflake using second smallest
cutter from set. Bake and cool round and
snowflake cookies separately.
Outline round cookies with tip 3 and fullstrength
icing; flow in using thinned icing.
Immediately pipe on plaid lines using
tip 1 and thinned, tinted icings (pipe one color at
a time). Let dry.
Outline snowflake cookies with
tip 3 and full-strength white icing; flow in using
thinned icing. Let dry. Pipe outline snowflake
arms and diamond details using tip 1 and fullstrength
gray icing. Let dry.
Use fine tip brush to paint snowflake details
with silver Pearl Dust/lemon extract mixture. Let dry. Attach snowflake to round
cookie using full-strength icing. Let set.
