Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like my gram's First, traditional recipes for kolachy do not include sugar in the dough. Second, the filling is sweet and balances the pastry. Kolachy are pastries, not sugar cookies. My gram made these every year. She made them in a different shape, but the dough was the same cream cheese dough. These are lovely little holiday treasures.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great recipe, but needs improvement No sugar is in the recipe. For these cookies you need sugar. I added 1/2cup sugar and the flavor was perfect. I did also make them slightly thicker then the directions say which made a big difference.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from First, there is no sugar in this recipe, these are more like crackers with some jelly and powdered sugar. They are only 1/8 inch which makes it hard to make an indention for the pastry filling. The were light brown after only 12 minutes, if I would have baked for the whole 16 min. Minimum they would have been burnt. Taste, Don't waste you time making these. So many other options better.
