You don't need a flower nail and a ton of tips to get beautiful buttercream flowers. With this Flowers in a Snap cake, you can create lovely blooming roses with just a squeeze.   1. Bake cake. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool two cake layers. Trim both layers to 2½ in. high. Fill and stack layers for 5 in. high cake.

    Ice cake smooth.

  2. Tint icing. Tint 1½ cups icing light blue using color combination provided. Combine Royal Blue and Violet icing colors to get light blue color shown.

    Use cornstarch to stiffen icing to medium consistency, if needed.

  3. Decorate cake. Prepare decorating bag with small rose tip and light blue icing. Pipe flowers around top edge of cake.
