Elated Elf Cupcakes

Step 1
Bake and cool cupcakes in silicone cups placed on cookie sheet. Ice cupcakes smooth in copper and place on cake circle.
Step 2
For each cupcake, tint a 1 3/4 in. ball of fondant red. Roll ball into a 6 1/2 in. long log; reserve a 1/4 in. red ball from each log.
Step 3
Flatten log to form stocking cap and position. Roll a 5/8 in. white fondant ball for pompom. Press into ball to form puffed look and attach with water.
Step 4
Pipe tip 352 pull-out leaves for hat points in green; add tip 2 dots in white. Pipe tip 10 pull-out shells for ears in copper (flatten and smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch).
Step 5
Decorate tip 2 dot eyes in black. Outline and pipe in tip 2 mouth in black. For tongue, flatten reserved red fondant ball; indent with knife and attach with dots of icing. Decorate tip 5 pull-out nose in copper.
