Easter PEEPS 3-D Cake and Candy Dipped Chicks

Step 1
Make cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool two cake halves according to package directions.
Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint a portions yellow and a small amount brown. Use spatula and yellow icing to assemble cake halves and ice cake smooth. Immediately cover cake with yellow sugar.
Step 2
Decorate cake. Use tip 12, cut decorating bag and brown icing to pipe dot eyes.
Step 3
Dip marshmallow chicks. Melt light cocoa Candy Melts candy according to package directions. Dip yellow and pink PEEPS? marshmallow chicks, about 3/8 in. deep, in melted candy. Immediately sprinkle with confetti or nonpareils. Place on parchment-covered board. Chill until firm, about 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 4
Assemble treats. Position cake on serving plate. Position chicks around cake.
