Bake and cool a two-layer, 8 in. round, cake. Place on foil-wrapped cake circle. Ice smooth with light blue buttercream.
For wavy border: Using border punch with Waves Border Cutting Insert, cut strips, 2 in. wide, along the length of Blue Dots Sugar Sheets! Attach to cake base using piping gel. Using border punch with Waves Border Cutting Insert, cut strips, 1 1/3 in. wide, along the length of Bright Blue Sugar Sheets! Attach over dotted border using piping gel.
For small ducks: Using small body pattern and black FoodWriter, trace pattern on back side (shiny side) of Bright Yellow Sugar Sheets! With scissors, cut eight circles for bodies. Attach small ducks to cake, 2 in. apart, using piping gel. Using punch with Small Circle Cutting Insert, cut eight heads from Bright Yellow Sugar Sheets! Use black FoodWriter marker to draw eyes. Attach heads to bodies using piping gel.
For wings, use Rotary Cutter to cut eight rectangles, 3/8 long x 1/4 in. wide, from Bright Yellow Sugar Sheets! Cut a V-shaped notch in one end. Attach with piping gel. For hair tuft, cut eight pieces, 1/4 long x 3/16 in. wide, from Bright Yellow Sugar Sheets! Cut small notches in tops and attach to heads using piping gel. For beaks, use scissors to cut 1/4 in. triangles from White Sugar Sheets! Color orange with orange FoodWriter marker. Attach to head using piping gel.
For large duck: Follow same procedures as above, tracing and cutting large body pattern from Bright Yellow Sugar Sheets. Using punch with Large Circle Cutting Insert, cut head from Bright Yellow Sugar Sheets! Use patterns to trace and cut wing and hair tuft from Bright Yellow Sugar Sheets! Cut a 1/2 in. triangle for beak from White Sugar Sheets! Decorate and attach pieces to cake using piping gel.
Using punch with Small Circle Cutting Insert, cut nine circles from Blue Dots Sugar Sheets! Attach to cake using piping gel.

The idea of "ducks in a row cake" was ideal for a surprise babyshower. The soon to be parent's were in AWE when they seen the cake. It was so easy to re-create and fun to make. I have also made it in fondant, in its entirety and i've gotten positive feedback and requests!!! Thank you!
