Bake cookies. Prepare macaron batter following recipe instructions, omitting Color Right food coloring.
Prepare decorating bag with tip 1A and macaron batter.
Place template on cookie sheet; cover with parchment paper. Following template, pipe macaron shells onto parchment paper-covered cookie sheet.
Prepare decorating bag with tip 8 and remaining macaron batter. Pipe ears on half of the macarons.
Bake and cool following recipe instructions.
Tint icing. Using Pink icing color, tint 2 cups icing light pink.
Prepare decorating bag with tip 1A and light pink icing. Assemble macarons, piping icing on the bottom of the base cookie shell, then topping with an 'ear' cookie shell, bottom facing in.
Reserve remaining pink icing.
Decorate cookies. Using the Black FoodWriter marker, draw eyes and mouth on each macaron. Using decorating brush and Gold cake paint, paint inner ears and whiskers.
Prepare decorating bag with tip 4 and remaining pink icing. Pipe nose on each macaron.
