Classic Santa Look Cookie
Hats off to this Christmas favorite! We used our Santa Hat Comfort Grip™ Cutter and delicious roll out cookie dough to create this treat. Decorated with festive royal icing and trimmed with zigzag pompoms.
Each cookie serves 1.
Cut, bake and cool Santa hat cookies. Use tip 2 and full-strength red royal icing to outline red area of hat. Use tip 2 and thinned down red royal icing to fill in red area of hat; let dry.
Use tip 3 and full-strength white royal icing to pipe random-motion zigzags on pompom and hat cuff.
The Zigzag is a popular way to fill in outlined areas, perfect for ribbed sweater and cuff effects. You can also use tight zigzags to cover the entire side of your cake—they look great!
Characters or designs are often outlined first, then piped in with stars or zigzags. Outlines can also be used for facial features.
