Decorate cake. Prepare three decorating bags separately with tips 16, 21 and 32. Fill with desired shades of icing.
Prepare two decorating bags with tip 2D and 1M. Using desired icing color, stripe bags. Fill with alternating icing color.
Using all prepared bags, pipe various stars on edge of cake, forming crescent moon shape.
Place cake on cake plate or serving dish. Prepare decorating bag with tip 1M and white icing. Pipe star border around bottom of cake.
