A charming diamond pattern sets this gingerbread house apart. The house is fun for the family to assemble and decorate and includes cookie house panels, ready-to-use icing, three types of candy, stencils and the tools you need.
Decorate front house panel design in advance. Place front house panel on parchment paper-covered surface. Position diamond stencil from kit on panel, leaving 2 1/4 in. open at bottom. Use spatula and white icing from kit to ice stencil openings. Carefully lift off stencil. Use round tip, cut decorating bag and white icing to pipe a line, 3/8 in. wide, below diamond pattern. Let dry, about 3 hours.
Assemble house according to kit instructions. Let house dry, about 3 to 4 hours.
Make front door. Use white icing to outline and fill in door. Pat smooth with finger dipped in cornstarch. Use toothpick to mark wood grain. Attach green candy rounds for doorknob and wreath above door. Use white icing to outline door again.
Make windows. Use white icing to outline and fill in windows on front, back and sides of house and to pipe windowpanes. Outline windows again.
Outline house. Use icing to pipe lines under eaves and at corners of house. Attach candy cane sticks at corners of house. Pipe outlines, 1/2 in. apart, between windows and door on all sides of house.
Decorate roof. Use toothpick to mark shingles, 1 in. x 3/4 in. Use icing to outline shingles and cover roof edges and peak. Cut mini multi-colored candies in half. Attach top halves of candies to peak.
Decorate base. Roll out mini multi-colored candies according to kit instructions. Cut pieces for walkway. Use spatula and white icing to ice base. Attach candy for walkway.

Hold bag at a 45° angle and touch tip to the surface. Squeeze at starting point so that icing sticks to surface. Now raise tip slightly, and as you squeeze, guide tip slightly above surface. To end outline, stop squeezing, touch tip to surface and pull tip away. After outline, fill in using a zigzag motion to fill area. Pat smooth using finger dipped in cornstarch.
