Rated 4 out of 5 by PixieSprinkles from This recipe makes a simple, easy to work with dough that is very forgiving of repeated rolling and rerolling of scraps. It would be ideal for children to work with because it does not need to be chilled and stays very stable with a lot of handling. The dough is best rolled thicker than usual in order to ensure a nice, uniform cookie without shape distortion during lifting or during baking. Even with the added thickness, I did not need to increase the baking time. I agree with the comment of user "hartleyflats" about the dryness of the cookies. They definitely depend on icing or filling to compensate for their dryness. In my second batch, I increased the butter by 1 tsp. just to see if it would make a difference, but it did not. I will definitely use this recipe often!
