Perfect for classic borders or cloudlike decorations, dots are a versatile technique that can be piped in a range of sizes. The dot technique can be used as a simple border for cakes and cookies, as well as for icing cupcakes or piping meringues.

Characters or designs are often outlined first, then piped in with stars or zigzags. Outlines can also be used for facial features.

Chipper Chimp Mini Cake is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from This cake was super easy to make. I made it for my nephew's birthday and he loved it. The idea was such a great one and the instructions were so easy! I made two, one followed the directions. The other one I modified to make it a pirate monkey - it was a pirate themed party. Both were a hit and his mother loved that she could take pics with a "traditional" birthday cake and with his "themed" birthday cake. What made it fit so great as a pirate - they call him Monkey as a nickname!!
