Make candy scrolls. Tape scroll patterns to cake board and cover with parchment. Melt light cocoa Candy Melts candy according to package directions. Use melted light cocoa candy in cut decorating bag to outline scroll patterns on parchment-covered cake board. You will need at least 30 scrolls, seven to eight of each pattern. Make extras to allow for breakage. Chill until firm, about 5 to 10 minutes.
Use spatula to gently lift scrolls and turn over. Use melted candy in cut parchment bag to overpipe scrolls to strengthen. Chill until firm, about 5 to 10 minutes.
Make cake. Prepare batter following recipe directions. Bake and cool cake.
Prepare chocolate buttercream icing according to recipe directions. Stack and fill for a 2-layer cake, 4 in. high. Use spatula and icing to ice cake smooth.
Insert scrolls. Start on outer edge of cake and work towards center. Insert shorter curls toward the edge of cake to create a fountain effect. Insert taller straight scrolls at center of cake top.
