Candy Curl Rainbow Cake

1. - NEEDED: See the Supply List for our buttercream recipe, plus items you can purchase here. You will also need:
   • Your favorite cake recipe or mix (6 3/4 cups batter needed)
   • 6 bowls
   • Warming tray (optional)
   • Vegetable peeler
   • Ruler
   • Knife
2. - Melt and tint Candy Melts candy. Melt two bags White Candy Melts candy according to package directions. Add EZ Thin Dipping Aid. Mix well. Divide melted candy equally into six bowls. Using Candy Color, tint melted candy Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Green and Violet.

   Prepare candy decorations. Fill separate decorating bags with melted candy; cut off small tip just before using. Starting with red, pipe thin layer of candy into mini loaf pan, just covering bottom of pan. Pipe orange on top of red, just covering red candy. Repeat with yellow, blue, green and ending with violet candy. Tap pan on counter to remove air bubbles. Chill until firm, 30 to 40 minutes.

   Using remaining red candy, pipe stripe 1 inch wide along 13 inch side of oblong pan. Repeat with remaining orange, yellow, green, blue and violet candy. Repeat sequence until pan is full. Tap pan on counter to remove air bubbles. Chill until candy is firm, 15 to 20 minutes.

   Helpful Hint: Pan can be set on a warming tray to avoid premature setting of candy.

   Make candy decorations. Unmold mini loaf candy bark; let come to room temperature. Using vegetable peeler, start making curls on the narrow edge of bark. Chill candy curls in bowl until ready to use.

   Helpful Hint: If candy is not curling, warm candy bark by microwaving at 50% power for 10-second intervals until candy is slightly warm.

   Carefully unmold 13 inch candy bark onto cake board; let candy come to room temperature. Starting at bottom red section, measure and cut five triangles with knife. Triangles should all have 2 inch wide base and vary in height, measuring 2 inches, 3 inches, 4 inches, 5 inches and 6 inches tall. Trim edges of triangles as necessary. Melt small amount of unused candy and attach Lollipop Stick to back of each triangle, leaving 4 inches for cake insertion. Chill until firm, 5 to 10 minutes.

5. - Bake and ice cake. Use you favorite cake recipe or mix to make 6 3/4 cups of batter, then bake and cool three 2 inch cake layers. Trim one layer to 1 inch high for a 5 inch high cake. Prepare icing. Level, stack, fill and ice cake.
6. - Decorate cake. Carefully press handfuls of candy curls into sides and top of cake. Insert triangles into top of cake in descending order.
