Make cookies for topper. Prepare
and roll out cookie dough following
recipe directions. Use bat and candy
corn cutters from 3-pc. bat/jack-o-lantern/candy corn metal cutter set to
cut one cookie in each shape. Use knife
to cut bat cookie in half and cut off
ears. Bake and cool cookies.
Cover cookies for topper. Prepare
thinned royal icing following recipe
directions. Tint portions lemon yellow/
golden yellow combination (for
yellow), orange and black. Reserve
some white. Place cookies on cooling
grid over parchment paper-lined
cookie sheet. Cover sections of candy
corn cookie with thinned white,
orange and yellow icing.
Let dry. Cover bat wing cookies with
thinned black icing. Let all cookies
dry overnight on parchment papercovered
Decorate and assemble topper.
Attach bat wing cookies to candy corn
cookie with full-strength royal icing.
Use black icing to attach lollipop stick
to topper. Let dry 3 to 4 hours. Use tip
2 and black royal icing to pipe outline
mouth and attach candy eyeballs.
DAY OF CELEBRATION
Bake and cool cupcakes. Prepare
buttercream icing following recipe
directions; tint orange. Use spatula to
ice smooth with orange buttercream.
Assemble treats. Position cupcakes
in 13-count dessert stand. Insert
topper. Insert picks from jack-o-lantern
combo pack in remaining cupcakes.
