Canada Day Flag Cake
Celebrate ?Canada?s birthday? with this patriotic cake created using the Wilton Flag Pan.
Cake serves 12.
Bake and cool cake. Position on foil-wrapped cake board cut to fit.
Make buttercream icing. Tint a portion red.
Ice sides smooth with white buttercream icing. Lightly ice top of cake with white buttercream.
Mark 2 3/4 in. from left and right sides of cake. Center maple leaf pattern, and mark pattern with a toothpick.
Use tip 16 to pipe stars in white and red buttercream icing on top of cake.
Use tip 21 and white buttercream icing to pipe shell border on bottom.
The star tip creates the most celebrated, easily accomplished decorations! The serrated edges of the star tip make ridges in the icing as you squeeze it out. Because fill in requires so much piping from the same bag, keep replenishing icing in bag.
