Step 1

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray 8 x 2 in. or 9 x 2 in. square pan with vegetable pan spray or Bake Easy! Non-Stick Spray.

Step 2

In small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. In small microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate; let cool slightly. In large bowl, beat butter and sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla and melted chocolate; mix well. Stir in flour mixture by hand; mix until just combined. Spread batter into prepared pan.

Step 3

Bake 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out almost clean. Cool completely on rack before cutting.

Step 4

Brownies shown were decorated with Wilton Brownie Fudge Icing using tip 2D, garnished with fresh berries, mint or chocolate curls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was not sure about using unsweetened chocolate for brownies. I have always used semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips for making brownies. But i had some unsweetened chocolate that i wanted to use up and thought i would give this recipe a try. I added some mini chocolate chips to the batter and the brownies turned out great. Family loved them. I will definitely use this recipe again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I found this recipe to be easy to make and it has a very nice texture. i thought that a cake brownie mite be a strange texture at first but its a very nice mix of the two deserts. I am a chocolate lover so this recipe is one of my top picks. I think if you suggested a drizzle(maybe a vanilla bean icing mixture or a coffee glaze) or toping(strawberry compote or some form of fresh or reduced fruit mixture) for the cake brownies it would have a larger success.
