Make fondant moons, planets, satellites and stars.
Tint 1 oz. white fondant royal blue, 1 oz. violet/rose combination (for violet), 1 oz. red-red, 1.5 oz. orange and 2.5 oz. golden yellow. Use brush and piping gel to attach all pieces to cake as directed.
Moons: Use 9 in. fondant roller with purple guide rings to roll out blue fondant 1/8 in. thick. Use medium round Cut-Out to cut three circles. Use both ends of dogbone tool from 10-pc. gum paste/fondant tool set to imprint craters. Attach to cake.
Violet planets: Roll out violet fondant 1/8 in. thick. Use medium round Cut-Out to cut three circles. For planet rings, use 9 in. fondant roller with pink guide rings to roll out orange fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use knife to cut strips, 1/8 in. wide x 4 in. long. Attach around violet circle. Attach to cake.
Yellow satellites: Roll out yellow fondant 1/8 in. thick. Use medium round Cut-Out to cut three circles. Attach to cake. For spindle bases, roll four orange fondant balls, 1/4 in. dia. Use small end of dogbone tool to indent one end. Attach other end to smooth edge of yellow circle. For spindles, roll four orange fondant balls, 1/4 in. dia. Shape into teardrops. Attach in indent on base. For spindle ends, roll four yellow balls, 1/8 in. dia. Attach to spindle.
Orange satellites: Roll out orange fondant 1/8 in. thick. Follow instructions from yellow satellites for cutting circles and making three spindles. For center strip, roll out blue fondant 1/8 in. thick. Use knife to cut a strip, 1/2 in. x 1 1/2 in. Attach across center of orange circle; trim as needed. Roll out red fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use narrow end of tip 12 to cut three circles. Attach to blue strip. Attach satellites to cake.
Stars: Roll out red and yellow fondant 1/16 in. thick. Use stars Cut-Outs fondant cutters to cut five each small yellow and red stars and 12 each medium yellow and red stars. Attach to cake.
