Step 1

Prepare and fill pie crust and pumpkin filling.

Step 2

Prepare 2 boxes of whipped topping according to package directions.

Step 3

Tint 1/4 icing green and the remainder orange.

Step 4

Cover pie with tip 2110 (1M) rosettes.

Step 5

Add tip 8 add pull-out stem.

Step 6

Sprinkle sugar on top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this pie this fall. I had recently finished the Basic Decorating classes and was anxious to use some of the new skills I had learned. Having the equipment such as the correct tips, the disposable bags and the colors made it a snap to complete. Even without the classes what is needed to do for this pie should still be fairly simple. I made a basic pumpkin pie just using the recipe on the can of pumpkin. I then made the topping using the Dream Whip mix, tinted it a light orange and piped it over the cooled pie making large rosettes. I then made the stem with a small amount of green frosting and covered the entire orange topping with orange sanding sugar. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! I was so proud of my creation. If you're a family that has pumpkin pie also for Christmas or any other time, you can still do this, it's not totally restricted to the fall or Thanksgiving. If you want an easy show stopper, this is a good one. This pan is a great one, it's a keeper. I hope to be able to purchase a few more of them to do more than one pie at a time.
