Step 1


Make puddle dot faces. Prepare royal icing following recipe directions. Tint portions copper, light brown and dark brown for skin tones; reserve some white. Thin skin tone icings following recipe directions.

Use thinned skin tone icings in cut parchment bags to pipe puddle dot faces, 1 in. to 1 1/8 in. dia., on parchment paper-covered boards. Let dry 48 hours. Reserve remaining icing.

Step 2


Make cookies. Prepare Spritz cookie dough following recipe directions. Use cookie press with 8-petal flower disk to press cookies onto cookie sheet. Bake and cool cookies.

Step 3

Attach faces. Use reserved skin tone icing in cut parchment bags to attach faces. Position faces slightly lower than center, slightly above edge of bottom petal. Let set.

Step 4

Pipe trims. Tint reserved white icing lemon yellow, leaf green, rose, sky blue and black.

Use tip 3 to pipe outline bow with dot knot. For pacifier, use tip 3 to pipe dot. Flatten slightly with finger dipped in cornstarch and pipe another dot on top. For hair, use tip 2 to pipe outlines, curls and dots. Use black FoodWriter edible color marker to draw dot and outline eyes. Let dry.
