Ice house and cover with sparkling sugar. Hint: Place house on a sheet pan to catch excess sugar. Work one section at a time so sugar will stick to icing. Use icing and spatula to ice house in sections. Gently tap to remove excess sugar and repeat until all sides and roof of house are covered.
Make front door. Roll out fondant 1/16 in. thick. Cut 1 ¾ in. x 2 ½ in. door. Cut out ½ in. square door window. Attach door to house. Use damp brush to cover window opening and add sparkling sugar. Use icing to outline window, door and dot doorknob. Attach candy around door and for doorknob.
Make front windows. Roll out fondant 1/16 in. thick. Cut two 3/4 in. x 1 ¼ in. rectangles and attach for windows. Use icing to pipe windowpanes.
Make side and back windows. Roll out fondant 1/16 in. thick. Cut two 1 in. x 2 ½ in. rectangles and attach for side windows. Attach candy adjacent to sides on windows. Cut three ¾ in. x 1 ¼ in. rectangles and attach for back windows. Use icing to pipe windowpanes.
Decorate roof. Use icing to pipe a line on roof peak. Attach candy. Attach candy to roof, placing more candy at the top corner and fewer pieces moving down the roof.
Decorate base. Use icing and spatula to ice base. Attach candy for pathway.
