Rated 5 out of 5 by SabrinaM from During Christmas, I couldn't find peppermint flavoring for the cookies, but I mixed crushed candy canes with the red sugar (the candy canes looked really pale after crushed) so I used the colored sugar along with it to darken the color. I used royal icing that I madeinstead of cookie icing. They tasted AMAZING!!!
