Bake and cool cake in classic wonder mold pan. Place cake on foil-wrapped cake circle.

Step 3

Bake and cool 20 standard cupcakes.

Step 4

Decorate beehive cake. Place cake on turntable. Prepare buttercream icing following recipe directions. Tint portions lemon yellow/golden yellow combination (for light and dark yellow) and black. Use spatula and black icing to ice doorway area smooth, 1 3/4 in. wide x 2 1/4 in. high. Use toothpick to mark outline of arched doorway, 1 1/2 in. wide x 2 in. high. Use tip 1A and dark yellow icing to pipe horizontal lines around cake, starting at base of cake. Use tip 1A and dark yellow icing to cover top with a ball and to outline doorway.

Step 5

Decorate cupcakes. Use tip 2A and light yellow icing to cover cupcake tops with a swirl. Position three daisy royal icing decorations on each cupcake.
