Autumn Leaves Apple Pie

Maple leaves are gathered atop an apple pie for a signature fall dessert. Use the Leaves & Acorns Cutter Set to cut crust in various leaf sizes and bake the pie in the 9 in. deep pie pan.

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare pie crust following recipe directions. Roll out enough crust for bottom of pie pan and set aside.
  2. Roll out the additional crust on parchment dusted with flour. Use medium and large leaf cutters to 13 to 15 each size leaves.
  3. Place leaves on cookie sheet and bake for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. In large bowl, combine apple slices and lemon juice. In a small bowl, combine sugar, flour and cinnamon. Sprinkle sugar mixture over apples slices; mix well to coat.
  5. Fill reserved pie crust with apple filling following recipe instructions. Make several cuts in top crust to vent steam. Brush pie crust with egg white. Place pie pan on sheet pan to catch drippings.
  6. Bake 45-50 minutes or until apples are bubbly and crust in deep golden brown. Remove pie from oven. Cool pie in pan on cooling rack at least 1 hour. Top cooled pie with leaves in desired pattern.
