Apple Pie Cookies

You'll be the apple of someone's eye when you serve these apple-shaped apple pies! These pies are so easy to make, using the Wilton Apple Cookie Cutter and your favorite pie dough and apple pie filling.

  1. Fill bottom crust. Use rolling pin to roll out bottom crust on flour-dusted surface, 1/16 in. thick. Use knife to chop up apple pie filling in a mixing bowl. Place 1 tablespoon portions of filling on crust, about 1 1/2 in. from edge and 3 in. apart. (Standard-size pie crust holds six portions of filling.)
  2. Place top crust. Roll out top crust on flour-dusted surface, 1/16 in. thick. Place top crust over bottom crust.
  3. Cut pies. Use apple cutter to cut out pies. Use a fork to crimp edges of pie.
  4. Bake pies. Preheat oven to 400°F. Beat egg; add a little milk or water to make an egg wash. Use pastry brush to brush top of crust with egg wash. Use knife to cut four small slits in top of crust to vent. Bake pies 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool.
